One of my absolute favorite places to photo is the pier. The contrast and light from the shade of the pier create depth dimension and even light. When you are on the beach, we are at the mercy of the sun. in the Pier shade, this bright sun is neutralized a bit. And to add the most awesome beach-soaked wood itself adds a nice tone that is a raw authentic coastal vibe that is timeless and grounded. This reflects year of salt and sun and storms. That gives an incredible character to every image. Even at golden hour, the sunset gives a warm almost cinematic look and feel.

If the pier isn’t an option due to the number of people. Not a problem. I can also come to the house where you are staying. At sunset, we can take photos anywhere. I’ll cruise direct everyone. And I do specialize in photo fun and craziness. After we get the normal photos out of the way. Lets let our hair down so to speak and have some photo fun!

I love to photo families! It’s one of my favorite things in photo world. There is some awesomeness when capturing connections and fun and love! Not just super posed smiles. I do what I call family photo tours… this is designed for the hyper and active kids. It’s not just standing in one spot and smiling. We’ll do a couple of those of course. But let’s photo the family for a few images, then change the stimuli and go somewhere else. It keeps the sesh relaxed and fun. Of course, all along the way, I’m taking photos while the kids are excited about changing spots.

For example. I love photoing at the pier. The pier has so much to offer than just the water in the background. It’s having the pier seasoned wood… there is the spots up near the under side of the pier. Love it there… We don’t just stand. We explore, we walk and play and the environment of the kids and ambiance tell a photo story.

I also guide families on what to wear, what not to wear, what to avoid etc. My goal is to create images that feel natural and timeless. And full of personality. Photos you want to hang on your walls for many years to come.

Every year starting around mid-October, I start getting Holiday Sesh Messages. My calendar quickly fills up with holiday sessions, and for the most awesome reasons of course! Holiday sessions are the most awesome time of year to update those family photos. The weather is cooler, the light is softer, and the colors are oh so beautiful. There is a certain family energy during the holidays. I love to capture that energy. The sessions are sometimes gifts themselves.

I always encourage families to take advantage of this time of year. Let’s photo document your life at that moment. Remember photos are not for now… they are for years from now… Visual memories that last a lifetime.

My sessions are super fun, especially for the kids. I love capturing energy. My personality brings that energy. And bodes well for photos.

Make sure you plan. Holiday sessions book quickly, so securing a spot early is key. I’ll help in the outfit suggestions of course. I also have a ton of spots that go well with certain sizes of families and ages of the kids.
