Let’s face it, a “local’s” beach… is rare nowadays. Holden beach is a rare locals beach. Of all the beaches I photo, I’m going to give Holden beach the top spot for “local”. When I’m photographing families and weddings here, it’s almost always with people who’ve been coming back for years—sometimes generations. There’s a deep familiarity, like they know every curve of the shoreline and every sunset by heart. The energy they bring is unmistakable: this is our beach, and we’re happy to share it with you. There is sense of fresh air when I cross the bridge at Holden.
